JAMMU, Jan 24: Inter-Collegiate Volleyball and Boxing tournaments were held in SPMR college of Commerce and MA Stadium Jammu respectively.
Dr Anil Gupta, Principal SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu was the chief guest in Volleyball tournament, while Dr Vinod Bakshi, Coordinator Sports (Cluster University of Jammu) was the chief guest in Boxing tournament.
Both the tournaments were organized under the aegis of Sports Coordinator Office, Cluster University of Jammu.
In Boxing Inter-Collegiate tournament, the overall championship was clinched by MAM College Jammu, with three individual gold medals.
Mahesh Kumar, Akash Sharma and Aman Sharma of MAM College, Jatin Kumar of SPMR Commerce College, Jammu and Aman Singh of GGM Science College showed extraordinary performance, winning gold medals.
The Boxing tournament was supervised by Dr Mandeep Singh and officiated by Anil Wadhera (Senior Boxing Coach).
In Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (men) tournament, the first match was played between SPMR College of Commerce and Govt College of Education. The second match played between MAM College and GGM Science College. GGM Science College emerged as the winner.
The final match was played between GGM Science College and SPMR College of Commerce.
GGM Science College emerged winner by beating SPMR College of Commerce by straight 3-0 sets.
Bhanu Partap Singh and Aquib Malik of GGM Science College and Chahat Prajapatti of MAM College Jammu were the star performers.
The tournament were supervised by Malik Aijaz Iqbal (Physical Director) SPMR College of Commerce and Amit Jamwal ( Assistant Physical Director) Govt PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
During the tournament the Dignitaries present were Prof Shafquat Jahangir, Prof Lalit Gind, Prof Neeraj Sharma, Prof Shrikant, Sumnesh Sharma (Physical Director) MAM College Jammu, Mahesh Sharma (Physical Director) GGM Science college, Dr Mandeep Singh (Physical Director) Govt College of Education, Dileshwar Singh (Assistant Physical 0Director) GGM Science College.
The matches were officiated by Shubam Sharma, Chetan Manhas, Shivali Kumari, Shalvi Charak and Reya Jamwal.
