JAMMU, Dec 5: The Inter-Collegiate Badminton (Men & Women) Championship 2024-25, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, is progressing with intense competition at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.
In the women’s section, P.G. Department Jammu University displayed dominant form, defeating MIET College Jammu by 2-0, while GCW Parade overcame MIER College Jammu by 2-1 in a thrilling encounter to secure their place in the final.
Meanwhile, the men’s section witnessed fiercely contested quarter-final matches. GDC Kunjwani edged past GDC Mendhar by 2-1 in a nail-biting finish, while P.G. Department JU outclassed BDC Udhampur by 2-1 with a commanding performance.
The Championship is being conducted under the leadership of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. He was joined by officials Malik Aijaz, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia and Jai Bharat.
The matches are being officiated by an experienced team comprising Ravish Vaid, Vinay Manhas, Jeevan Lal, Arjun Sharma and Ritik Jandial. The event continues to showcase exceptional talent and sportsmanship among the participating teams.
