JAMMU, Dec 5: The Government SPMR College of Commerce emerged victorious in the Inter-College Boxing (Men’s) Tournament, organized under the aegis of the Cluster University of Jammu, here today.
The opening ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, who served as the chief guest, while Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director of Physical Education & Sports at Jammu University, attended as the guest of honour. Other notable attendees included Prof. Pawan Gupta, Dr. Chetna Gupta, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Arun Sharma, and Kajal Permi, Physical Director of GCW Gandhi Nagar.
The tournament was conducted under the supervision of Ravi Kumar, Physical Director of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, along with the college’s Sports Committee.
In an intense competition, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce clinched the winner’s title, while MAM College finished as runners-up. The event was officiated by experienced referees, including Harinderpal Singh, Rishiv Sharma, Anil Chib, Sandeep Singh and Hardesh Singh, ensuring fair play throughout the matches.
The tournament highlighted the growing interest and talent in boxing among college students, furthering the goal of promoting sports at the grassroots level.
