JAMMU, Apr 21: A first-of-its-kind ‘Design-Driven Innovation Workshop’ was organized for students at the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, here.
IIM-A and BITS-Pilani alumnus, Kunal Gupta alongwith Priya Ganadas from IIT Mumbai were the resource persons for the workshop.
The workshop took the students through the process of innovation based on fundamentals of design-driven thinking. At the conclusion of the workshop six students were selected to undergo a one-month innovation camps at the National Innovation Foundation, Ahmedabad and IIT Mumbai during which they are expected to refine their ideas further and come out with the business plan to take their concepts to market.
The theme of the workshop was women and child safety and the students came up with ten innovative mobile apps to cover different aspects.
This workshop is a precursor to the launch of the “Center for Innovation” at MIET which will focus on creating innovative solutions to common problems and involve students in practical research.
Chairman, MIER Group, Dr Arun K Gupta complemented the MIET Management in taking progressive steps in this important domain.
