New Delhi, July 15: Indian junior women hockey team, led by defender Sushila Chanu, today departed for Germany to participate in the FIH Junior World Cup Women 2013 to be held in Monchengladbach, from July 27-August 4.
India is placed in Pool-C with New Zealand, Australia and Russia.
India will play their opening match against Australia on July 27 followed by New Zealand on July 28 and Russia on July 30, the Hockey India said in a statement here.
All the matches will be played at the two pitches of the Warsteiner Hockey Park in Monchengaladbach.
The Indian team will be playing four warm-up games ahead of their World Cup campaign.
India will play their first warm-up game against Belgium on July 17 July followed by Netherlands on July 19, South Africa on July 21 and Argentina July 24, the statement read.
Sushila Chanu is the captain of the team while forward Rani is the Vice-Captain.
Before heading for the FIH Hockey Junior World Cup Women, Indian team had preparatory camp of two months at NIS, Patiala, it added.
