Independence Day celebrated with patriotic fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Aug 17: 74th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety.
Stephens College of Nursing under the aegis of Dr Aparna Education Trust celebrated Independence Day. The management and faculty members of SCON participated in the celebration. Dr Kamal Saini, IGP Retd and Chairman SCON, Satvinder Saini Director SIPS, Muni Dhar Principal SCON, Manoj Kotru Administrator SCON, Ritu Gupta Assistant Professor and Activity Incharge were present on the occasion.
National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College, Nowshera organized Inter-College Patriotic Song competition on Independence Day, in which various students of different colleges participated. Saloni Sharma of GDC Sunderbani and Jasmeet Kour of GDC Nowshera bagged 1st position, while Jashanpreet Singh of GDC Nowshera and Amanpreet Singh of GDC Nowshera bagged 2nd position. Dheeraj Kumar of GDC Katra, Harpreet Kour of GDC Nowshera and Ramneek Kour of GDC Nowshera secured 3rd position.
The Day was observed at Government Degree College Marh. The National Flag was unfurled by the Principal of the College, Prof Aekta Gupta, followed by the National Anthem. Present on the occasion among others were guest of honour Sukhnandan Kumar Choudhary, Ex-Minister, college staff and prominent civilians.
Government Degree College, Chenani celebrated 74th Independence. Various programs held in the College were essay writing on ‘Vision of New India 2050’, Poster making on ‘Heritage Monuments of India’ and online quiz on ‘Indian National Movement’. Dr Pragya Khanna, Principal of the college announced that e-certificates will be given to all the participants.
Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur under the guidance of Principal of the College, Prof (Dr) Satinder Kour organized an Online Inter-College Quiz Competition on the occasion of Independence Day on the theme “The Constitution of India”. 92 students from different Degree Colleges of the UT J&K participated in the competition. E-certificates have been given to the participants who scored 60 per cent and above.
Principal Prof Rajshree Dhar, staff and students of Government Degree College Jindrah celebrated Independence Day by hoisting National Flag in the college and organizing the online patriotic song singing competition. The participants for the singing competition were faculty members as well as the students.
On Independence Day, BDC Chairperson Thanna Mandi Rozy Zaffer Mir hoisted National Flag at Government Degree College Thanna Mandi. On the occasion SDM Thanna Mandi Dr Zakir Hussain, President MC Shakeel Mir, SDPO Sajjad Khan, Tehsildar Mehmood Khan, Commanding Officer 38 RR Col RS Mann and all sectoral officers and officials were present.
NSS unit of Government College of Education, Jammu celebrated 74th Independence Day by organizing an online Patriotic Song and Poetry Recitation Competition. The program was conducted by Dr Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Program Officer and compared by Ravinder Kumar Rao and Priya Chivalry Singh NSS Volunteer. Principal of the college Dr Kulvinder Kour, Prof Seema Kumari, Prof Shapia Shameem, Dr Zubair Kales, Prof Ramzan Ali, Prof Shalini Rana and Prof Kashab Sharma were present on the occasion. Ravinder Rao and Sanjeev Arya stood first and second respectively in singing competition, while Pradeep and Chanandeep stood third. In Poetry Recitation, Deepika Sharma and Meenakshi Manhas clinched first and second position respectively while Arjun Singh stood third.
Independence Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School Jakhbar Kathua, wherein the National Flag was hoisted by Principal Davinder Paul Singh in presence of Sarpanch Ashwani Sharma, members of Panchayat Jakhbar, Vice Principal Satish Chandel and other staff members.
The day was celebrated by the GHSS Shastri Nagar. Geetu Bangotra, Principal unfurled the National Tricolour.

Government Hari Singh Higher Secondary School Jammu celebrated the day. Principal Vijay Chanyal unfurled the National Flag in presence of staff members.
Government Higher Secondary School Gundla, Zone Dansal (Jammu) celebrated 74th Independence Day. Tricolour was hoisted by the Incharge Principal of the School. Staff, VEC members & other prominent persons also attended the function.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari celebrated the day. Tahira Parveen Shawl, Principal of the institution hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff members.
The day was celebrated at GHSS Salmerhi (Udhampur), wherein Principal Nasib Singh and Sarpanch Ashok Kumar Sharma hoisted the National Flag. Staff members and prominent persons of the area were present on the occasion.
Independence Day was celebrated in Government Higher Secondary School Sarna Samba. Suraj Singh Rathore, Principal of the institution unfurled the National Flag in presence of staff members and students.
Joint Director with additional charge of CEO Kathua HR Pakhroo along with Principal Government Model HSS Boys Kathua Sanjeev Vaid and some staff members of the school celebrated Independence Day in the premises of Government Model HSS Boys Kathua. On this occasion plantation drive was carried out in the school premises by Joint Director, Principal and staff members.
74th Independence Day was celebrated in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Ramkote. Tehsildar BL Sharma hoisted the National Flag while Dr Ashu Vashist, Principal GDC Ramkote, Incharge Police Post Ramkot, Principal of the institution and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
On the eve of 74th Independence Day, tricolor was unfurled by Lt Col Pawan, Officials Principal at the stadium of Sainik School Nagrota in presence of faculty, administrative staff, NCC, PT staff and general employees. All the cadets and staff participated in the Atma Nirbhar Bharat-Swatantra Bharat Quiz organized by the Ministry of Defence and also sent their entries for the Essay Writing Competition organized by CBSE on the same theme.
Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated 74th Independence Day. The function began with the hoisting of National Flag by the Headmaster Ravi Kumar Kotroo and staff of the school. A cultural program was organized by Music Department.
Rich Harvest School celebrated 74th Independence Day. Managing Director of the School Advocate Gambhir Dev Singh Charak unfurled the tri-colour in the presence of staff members. A video was released by the Principal Anita Bhatia, which contained patriotic messages from the students, prominent citizens and Gulchain Singh Charak, the Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust and Rich Harvest Schools.

To commemorate the day, DPS Udhampur took an initiative to hoist 1100 tricolor in 121 minutes with an intention to set a world record. Pro Vice Chairman of DPS Udhampur Dr JC Gupta unfurling National Flag along with MD of the school Vivek Gupta, Sucheta Gupta Director Academics and Virtuous Principal Dr Kunal Anand. Live performances were presented by school kids.
Shiksha Niketan Sernior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Jammu celebrated the 74th Independence Day. On this occasion, the National Flag was hoisted by the chief guest Harjeet Singh Tehsildar, Jammu South along with Rameshwar Mengi Principal of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jammu, Gagandeep Singh and Sunil from Revenue Department.
On Independence Day, DBN Amarvilla family organized virtual Vande Mataram Fest. Flag hoisting ceremony was conducted in presence of Manager of the school Darshan Lal Sharma, Principal DBN AV Manmita Das Raina, senior staff members and few children. Be it the popular Dogri song ‘Bhala Sipahiya Dogariya’ or Dogri folk ‘Sapaari Di Daaliye’ the audience were mesmerized by the captivating voices of renowned singers Jasbir Jassi, popularly known for his foot-tapping songs like Dil Le Gayee, Laungda Lashkara, Kudi Kudi, soulful Ghazal singer Radhika Chopra–daughter of the soil, brother-sister duo RJ Roohie and Juhi, folk singer Vanshhika Jaral and soloist singer Dr Manvi Gupta.
74th Independence Day was celebrated at Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur. On the occasion, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Principal PTTI Vijaypur hoisted the National Flag in presence of Rajinder Singh Rahi, SP, Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur, Shamsher Singh Sambyal, DySP Security (PIO), Satish Kumar, DySP (Outdoor), Rakesh Sambyal SrPO (Incharge Admn), Prithipal Singh, SrPO (Incharge Indoor Faculty). Independence Day was celebrated at Village Domana by the Kaith Biradari. Subedar Major (Retd) Gunni Ram Kaith hoisted the Tricolour amidst singing of National Anthem.
Biradari members paid glowing tributes to the hundreds of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the country’s freedom struggle. RL Kaith expressed his views. Kaith Biradari Chairman honoured Ex Subedar Hans Raj, Ex Havildar Des Raj, Ex Havildar Bhopinder Singh, Ambu Ram, Lal Chand, Mohinder Lal, Bishan Lal, Darshan Lal and Ajay Kumar for their philanthropic work.
On the occasion of Independence Day, a function was held at JKRTC Divisional Headquarter at Bikram Chowk Jammu. The National Flag was unfurled by Swaran Singh, General Manager (Ops) JKRTC Jammu in presence of Naresh Sawhney, Divisional Accounts Officer, Peer Seth, Deputy General Manager (Law), Surinder Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Mech), JKRTC, unit officers as well as staff and union office bearers of Corporation.
74th Independence Day was observed by J&K SLSA in association with J&K Judicial Academy by organizing an Online Talk Session on the topic “Performance of Fundamental Duties: A Quintessential element of Freedom” and also by hosting a “Patriotic Symphony with Senior citizens”. A documentary prepared by Haryana State Legal Services Authority was also showcased on the occasion. Ishanki Gupta, Retainer Advocate, Shahdara Legal Services Authority, members of Ahata-e-Waqar Centres of various districts, Sita Ram Sapolia, a renowned Hindi and Dogri writer and recipient of Sahitya Academy Award, Tsewang Dorjay, Member Ahata-e-Waqar, Leh, Muneer Ahmad Meer, an approved Grade A singer from Radio Kashmir Jammu, Kewal Krishan Wadera, a renowned Environmentalist and a social activist and member of Ahata-e-Waqar Jammu, Rubina Mir, a renowned poetess from Rajouri, Yash Pal Sharma, member of Ahata-e-Waqar Jammu and Parvez Maanous, a renowned multilingual writer and poet and recipient of many State and National awards were present. Independence Day was also observed by District Legal Services Authorities of all the districts of UTs of Jammu& Kashmir and Ladakh through PLVs by organizing various activities.
Arya Samaj Trikuta Nagar Jammu organized yagya followed by National Flag hoisting ceremony by the senior member Prof VP Gupta to celebrate 74th Independence Day. Subhash Arya secretary thanked all the participants and the celebrations concluded by chanting Shanti Path.
On Independence Day, National Flag was hoisted by District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur at District Court Complex Udhampur under the instructions of its Secretary/Sub judge Sandeep Kour by DLSA Retainer Lawyers, PLV and Advocates and police personnel.
Udhampur Development Council (UDC) organized a function on the occasion of 74th Independence Day. On the occasion, Anil Paba, President UDC hoisted National Flag. On the occasion, Parvesh Parihar, General Secretary, Vikas Upadhaya, Rakesh padha along with other party members were present on the occasion.
Dogra Saddar Sabha Udhampur organized a function on Independence Day. On this occasion KK Bhardwaj, Former President DSS hoisted National Flag along with Fatay Singh, Manmohan Rana, Suhail Khokhar and other party members.
Sky High India Social Organisation celebrated Independence Day in presence of eminent and prominent personalities. Aman Kalsotra Director Sky High India Social Organization unfurled Tricolor.
KP Volunteers (KPV) celebrated Independence Day at community hall Muthi camp Jammu. The day was celebrated in collaboration with Shri Alakh Sahiba Trust and Volunteers of KP Ekta Bhawan TRT Welfare Committee Muthi led by its President TN Koul. The program started with flag hoisting ceremony followed by recitation of National Anthem and patriotic songs.
Green Ray Foundation celebrated Independence Day. President of NGO Randhir Singh has appeal to the general public to live with brotherhood and peace and work collectively for the progress and betterment of mother India. General Secretary Advocate Amrik singh and Parampreet Kour Secretary were also present on the occasion.
