Imran’s ton goes in vain as ADICC Gujarat registers resounding win over UCC

DODA, July 19: Imran Malik’s magnificent century went in vain as Ahmedabad Drive In Cricket Club Gujarat (ADICCG) registered resounding victory over United Cricket Club Poonch (UCCP) by 42 runs and advanced into the next stage of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Unit Doda.
Earlier, batting first, ADICC Gujarat made 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 15 overs. Prem Thakur played a splendid innings of 82 runs off 45 balls for his team, while Jaydev Parmar contributed 35 runs. From UCC Poonch, Anayat Hussain and Imran Malik scalped 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, UCC Poonch managed to score 128 runs in 15 overs for the loss of 4 wickets, thus lost the match by 42 runs. Imran Malik was the highest scorer from UCC Poonch, who slammed a magnificent century, scoring 101 runs off 53 balls, while Usman Choudhary contributed 17 runs to the total. From ADICC Gujarat, Anand, Sagar Dodiya, Mayur Patel and Ankit Patel shared 1 wicket apiece.
Imran Malik of United Cricket Club Poonch was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Munish Zutshi and Vijay Partab Singh as umpires, while Milind Gore maintained the scorebook.
