DODA, June 7: Nadeem Javed’s 59 runs and one wicket help Zakir Eleven Doda to sail into the quarterfinals of the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Zakir Eleven Doda set a mammoth target of 218 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Nadeem Javed remained top scorer with 59 runs, while Asif Pathan contributed 38 runs to the total. From Prince Cricket Club Bhalessa (PCCB), Majid bagged 2 wickets, while Zaffarullah claimed one.
In reply, Prince Cricket Club Bhalessa could not chase the target and scored only 106 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted overs. Jagmohan was the top scorer with 39 runs, while Sudesh contributed 19 runs to the toal. From Zakir Eleven Doda, Ikram Pathan and Nadeem Javed shared one wicket each. Nadeem Javed of Zakir Eleven Doda was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance.
The match was officiated by BCCI Ranji Trophy Umpire Subhash Mathur and Ifroz Rather, while Shahid Pampori acted as scorer.
