JAMMU, Apr 29: Outplaying BCC in a close contest by 2 wickets in the summit clash, Horizon Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of the 6th Ravi Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament at Satwari, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, BCC scored a modest total of 130 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Kabit top scored with 45 runs, while Monu, Jagjeet and Rahil contributed 20, 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. From Horizon Club, Raman Dutta, Harry and Jatin Wadhawan took 2 wickets each, while Sawan claimed one wicket.
In reply, Horizon Club chased the target in 19.5 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Jatin top scored with 30 runs, while Kaka contributed 27 runs to the total. Lakhan and Kulvinder also chipped in with 20 and 15 runs respectively. Rajat bagged 3 wickets for BCC, while Kabit, Jimmy and Raja shared one wicket apiece. Jatin Wadhawan was declared as the man of the match and best batsman, while Raman Dutta was adjudged as the best bowler and Vijay Dogra as the man of the series.
The match was officiated by Vijay Choudhary and Dinesh Sharma as umpires.
Former Minister, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams
He presented a cash prize of Rs 21,000 and a trophy to the winners, while a cash prize of Rs 11, 000 and trophy was presented to the runners-up team.
