Hockey J&K refutes RTI activist’s allegations

JAMMU, Jan 21: Hockey J&K today refuted allegation of corruption and misappropriation of funds levelled by RTI activist along with veteran Hockey players during the press conference on January 19 here.
The Hockey J&K in its communiqué said that all the charges against the Hockey J&K were baseless and unfounded as the funds are reimbursed by the Association to J&K Sports Council after the event which are subject to audit by the Council i.e Govt audit and statutory audit is required as per provisions of Registrar Societies by-Laws and Hockey J&K constitution.
“As regards the expenditure on refreshment is concerned, the J&K Sports Council provides refreshment for conducting the selection camp for different National championships that too, after submission of audited annual account by the CA. Therefore, the Council is directly bearing the expenditure of refreshment itself and Hockey J&K has no role and control over the refreshment issue,” the communiqué further read.
