HFI forms adhoc committee for J&K

JAMMU, Aug 24: The Handball Federation of India (HFI) has constituted a five-member adhoc committee for its Jammu and Kashmir unit comprising of former office bearers and senior players.
Led by former president of J&K Handball Association, Dr S M Bali as chairman, the committee included international player, Vivek Khajuria, Inspector Chandan Singh, Showkat Ahmed and veteran sports administrator, Ashok Kumar.
“As per the communiqué by general secretary of HFI, Pritpal Singh Saluja, the J&K unit has been suspended with immediate effect under Article 9 rule 6 and 15 of the Handball Association of J&K. Further, all working matters with respect to functioning of the Association shall be taken over by the HFI,” informed chairman of the adhoc committee and long serving official of HFI and J&K unit, Dr SM Bali.
He added that the HFI letter has clearly mentioned that the process engaged to form and elect the new Working Committee of Handball Association of J&K was not constitutionally right.
