JAMMU, Jan 13: Magnificent 64 runs off just 43 balls by Touseef Majid and 49 runs of 28 balls by Khalid Khan helped HDFC Bank to register a convincing win over Sun n Sand in the ongoing CII T-20 Corporate Cricket League, being played at KC Sports Club Ground, here.
The CII T-20 Corporate Cricket League is being organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Batting first, Sun n Sand scored 137 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Rohan was the top scorer for Sun n Sand with 73 runs, while Varun scored 29 runs. For HDFC Bank, Khalid Khan, Arshad and Waseem took 2 wickets each.
HDFC bank easily chased the total and won the match by 8 wickets. Anchal and Varun managed to take 1 wicket each for Sun n Sand.
Khalid Khan was declared man of the match for his overall performance.
In another match, Simula XI defeated Aircel XI in a one-sided contest by 9 wickets. Batting first, Aircel XI collapsed at 100 runs in 18.3 overs. Simula XI easily chased the target in 6.2 overs by losing 1 wicket. Atul Sharma scored 50 runs in just 18 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 massive sixes, while Puneet contributed 32 runs off just 11 balls, studded with 5 fours and a six. Raman Dutta bowled exceptionally well and took 4 important wickets for Simula XI and was declared as the man of the match.
“10 teams from Corporate Sector, Banks and Government Departments are competing for the title trophy,” said Rahul Sahai, Chairman CII J&K State Council.
