Haryana wrestler Hari Krishan lifts Roun-Domail Kesari title

KATRA, June 3: ‘43rd Annual Roun-Domail Kesari Vishal Dangal 2014’, a historic wrestling event was organized by Thill Roun-Domail Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of its president, Shiv Kumar Sharma; Numberdar, Dharam Singh Ranyal, president of the Dangal Committee and Om Parkash Verma, general secretary, District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The first main bout was fought between wrestler Hari Krishan (Choota Khalli) of Rohtak in Haryana and Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab. Hari Krishan outwitted his opponent in 28 minutes and emerged winner. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 30,000 by the treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Senior BJP leader, Pawan Gupta, while cash prize of Rs 25,000 was given to runner-up wrestler Abdul Gani by State BJP Secretary, Pawan Khuriya and Numberdar Dharam Singh Ranyal.
2nd bout was won by wrestler Som Bir of Rohtak (Haryana), who defeated wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police in just 8 minutes bout. Winner Som Bir was awarded with awarded with a cash prize of Rs 26,000 by Om Parkash Verma and retired SP, Prithvi Raj Sharma, while runner-up wrestler Benia Min received a cash prize of Rs 25,000 by Virender Kumar Sharma and Vijay Singh (Biju). Thirty eight bouts were played in a one day long Wrestling Competition.
MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
