JAMMU, June 28: The closing ceremony of the 6th Annual Summer Academic Camp organized by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust was held today.
The students performed various cultural activities like dancing, singing, skits and shared their experiences during the camp.
The camp was attended by 39 students of classes 8th, 9th and 10th hailing from backward/rural areas which included Chak, Rattian, Doomi, Gajansoo, Hiranagar, R.S Pura, Birpur, Gurah Slathia, Bishnah and Ghou Manhasan.
Managing Trustee said the students were given intensive educational coaching by some of the best lecturers and professionals from various fields. Students were provided free hostel facility, study material, medical care and good diet by the Trust. Students were taken to different educational tours to Panthel, Shri Vashno Mata Devi University, Agaar Jitto, Reasi, etc. They were also provided Yoga classes by well trained yoga teachers. Several sports activities were performed by the students.
The total number of children being supported by HBET has risen to 500 in this academic year.
The parents of the children thanked the Trust for arranging the camp and supporting their education and helping them to become responsible, contributing members of society.
