JAMMU, Mar 30: Hans Raj of Jammu and Kashmir emerged winners in the 10,000 mtrs category of the ongoing 20th J&K UT Athletics Championships, organised by the Athletics Association of J&K, here today.
In 10000 mtrs open men, Hans Raj of JKP, Abhishek from Udhampur and Bhagwan Singh stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in 1500 meters men, first three places were secured by Ashwani Kant of Jammu, Barkat Ali Wani and Mukesh Kumar of JKP respectively and in 1500 mtrs under-20 boys, top three positions were won by Vishal Sharma of Jammu, Pankaj Kumar of Kathua and Ghari Kumar of Samba respectively.
In women’s open 1500 mtrs, Shamshad Bano and Bharti Devi from Jammu, while Pooja Devi of Udhampur won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively, while in 1500 mtrs girls under-20, top three medals were won by Simran of Kathua, Kanchan Bharti of Udhampur and Kiran Chib of Jammu respectively and in open women’s 400 mtrs, Sonali Dogra of Samba, Monika Langeh and Anu Devi from Jammu secured first three places respectively.
In girl’s under-20 400 mtrs, first three places were secured by Shivani Thakur of Reasi, Pragatee Abrol of Jammu and Marjan of Jammu respectively.
