JAMMU, Jan 5: Kushi, a student of Government High School, Kawa, Udhampur and Saqib Ahad from Government Higher Secondary School Sumbal Bandipora, represented the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and bagged the first prize in the Solo Vocal Music category performed at the National Level Kala Utsav Competition 2019 organized by the Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), at Bhopal.
The programme commenced on January 2, 2020 and concluded today.
Both the students Khushi and Saqib qualified for the National Level Competition after winning District level, Provincial level and UT level competitions respectively for final selection.
Their melodious voices and beautiful presentation in the form of Folk songs impressed the jury to secure first position in Solo Vocal Music category.
