Gorkha CC scripts narrow win over Lions Club

JAMMU, May 25: Shubham’s brilliant 76 runs went in vain as Gorkha Cricket Club registered a narrow win by 7 wickets over Lions Cricket Club in the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, under the supervision of retired Judge, Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Gorkha Cricket Club scored a decent total of 196 runs in the allotted 30 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Nikhil top scored with 52 runs off 48 balls, studded with 6 boundaries, while Rahul contributed 48 off 42 balls with the help of 6 fours. Sakib also chipped in with 20-ball 27 runs. For Lions Club, Sandeep took 3 wickets, while Anuj claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Loins Cricket Club, Jammu managed to score 189 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 30 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 7 runs. Shubham top scored with 76 off 67 balls, studded with 11 fours and one six, while Naman contributed 26 off 24 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Pankaj and Rahul took 2 wickets each for Gorkha Cricket Club.
The match was officiated by Rahul Kumar and Ashok Singh as umpires, while Vinod Kumar was the scorer.
