KATHUA, Mar 30: Gold medallist in the 56th Cross Country Championship, Ritik Sharma today got a rousing welcome on his return from the National Championship, here today.
The family members, sportspersons, coaches and athletes of Athletic Club as well as Sarpanches and Panches of his native village Hirangar welcomed the gold medalist by beating drums at Railway Station.
It is pertinent to mention here that the 56th championship was organized at Kohima in Nagaland by Nagaland Athletic Association on March 26. .
The secretary of the Athletic Club, Vivek Sharma congratulated him and his whole team for this achievement and requested the youth to join the Club, where free of cost training has been provided to the budding athletes.
Talking with media persons, Ritik Sharma said that it is a great achievement for me, my village and the UT of J&K to achieve the highest medal that too during the tough competition where athletes from all over India are contesting. He thanked the coaches, friends and family members for supporting him for this success.
