Goa scores 208 in 1st innings; J&K 62/2

JAMMU, Jan 29: J&K skipper Vivrant Sharma’s 5-wicket haul restricted Goa to 208 runs in their 1st innings of the ongoing CK Nayudu Under-23 Cricket Trophy match at Sanguem Cricket Stadium, Goa.
J&K, in reply were 62/2 at stumps on day-1 today.
Vivrant Sharma (21) and Musaif Ajaz (19) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn. Sufiyaan (13) and Abhishant Bakshi (7) were the two batsmen sent back to pavilion. Nihal S and Deepraj Gaonkar were the wicket takers for Goa, who claimed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Goa after losing 2 early wickets, managed to score a decent total of 208 runs in 68.2 overs. Opening batsman Ishaan Gadekar top scored with 87 runs off `199 balls, studded with 9 boundaries, while Deepraj Gaonkar (36), Aditya Suryawanshi (32) and Kaushal Hattangadi (19) were the other contributors. For J&K, Vivrant Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 5 important wickets by conceding 28 runs in his 12 overs, while Lone Nasir Muzaffar bagged 3 wickets by giving away 38 runs in 14.2 overs. Trag Jahid Nazir and Sunil Kumar claimed 1 wicket each.
