JAMMU, Feb 24: Goa defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 78 runs in the ongoing Senior Women T20 League at Police Training Academy ground, Agartala today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Goa scored a good total of 137 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Nikita top scored with 44 runs, while Sunanda and skipper Vinavi Gurav contributed 39 and 24 runs to the total respectively. From J&K, Sandhya Sayal was the pick of the bowlers, who took 2 wickets by conceding 9 runs in her 4 overs, bowling 17 dot balls, while Qousar Jabeen took 2 wickets and Rubiya Syed claimed one.
In reply, J&K scored paltry 59 runs by losing 8 wickets, thus ost the match by 78 runs. Skipper Sarla Devi scored 18 runs while Qousar Jabeen contributed 10 runs. None of the other batswomen crossed the double figure mark. From Goa, Sunanda and Sukhadev Chauhan took 2 wickets each.
With this win Goa earned 4 points, while J&K failed to secure any point.
