GGM Science College team sails into Football finals

JAMMU, Dec 6: GGM Science College Football (Men) team entered into finals of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate tournament, organized by the Cluster University of Jammu at GGM Science College Ground, here today.
The match was played between GGM Science College and Govt. MAM College. It was a very close match which remained undecided till the end because both the teams scored equally (4-4). Finally it was decided on the basis of tie breaker and GGM Science College won this match by 3 goals to 2.
Dr Twinkle Suri, DSW CLUJ was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. She threw light on the relevance of organizing such sports activities and motivated the students to participate actively in such events.
Dr Rajesh Gupta, Principal GGM Science College and Dr Surinder Sharma, Principal SPMR College of Commerce highlighted the impact of sports in our day to day life. He stressed upon the need to participate in sports events for the overall development of an individual personality.
Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sports Coordinator, CLUJ and Physical Director, GGM Science College also shared his views regarding the importance and role of sports.
An exhibition match of Tug of War (Women) teams between GGM Science College and GCOE Jammu was played before the start of the match.
Prof Anil Verma, Dr Shafkat Jahangir, Prof BB Bhat, Prof Veer Singh, Prof Nisha Sharma, Aijaz Malik, Physical Director SPMR College of Commerce, Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director, GCOE Jammu  and Neelam Chalotra, Assistant Physical Director Govt MAM College Jammu and faculty members from various constituent Colleges of Cluster University of Jammu were present during the event.
The proceedings of the opening ceremony was conducted by Associate Prof Dr Geetanjali Rajput, while the match was officiated by Rahul Sharma, Abhishek Chandan and Manav Kundal.
