GDC Kathua to take on GDC Hiranagar; PG faces Akhnoor

KATHUA, Jan 22: Winning their quarterfinal matches convincingly, Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua, GDC Hiranagar, PG Department and GDC Akhnoor sailed into the semifinals as the semifinals position has been cleared in the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (Men) Tournament at Kathua, today.
Earlier, GDC Kathua defeated GGM Science College by (2-1) to seal berth in the semifinals, PG Department, University of Jammu drubbed GDC Samba by (2-0) and reached the semifinals. GDC Akhnoor defeated GDC Billawar by (2-0), while GDC Hiranagar had already entered the semifinals.
Now, in the semifinals, GDC Kathua will lock horns with GDC Hiranagar, while PG Department will meet GDC Akhnoor.
The tournament is being organised under the guidance of Dr Balbinder Singh, Physical Director GDC Kathua, while the matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj Sharma, Roshan Sharma, Balwinder Singh Jamwal, Sanjeev Singh, Mohinder Sharma, Madan Lal, Mandeep Singh and Pankaj Sapolia.
Principal GDC Kathua, Nater Singh and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua, Sudesh Kumar Chalotra witnessed the matches.
