RAJOURI, July 25: The Department of English of Government Degree College Kalakote in collaboration with EBSB Club and Literary Club today organized an online National Conference on the topic, ‘The Life: Biography and Literature’ under the guidance of Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta, College Principal.
On the occasion Prof JP Singh Joorel, Director, INFLIBNET, Gandhi Nagar Gujarat was the chief guest, whereas Prof Rahul Gupta, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu and Prof Shalabh, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, IIT Kanpur were the guests of honour and Dr Vishaka Chauhan, Assistant Professor English at SS Jain Subod PG (Autonomous) College Jaipur was the keynote speaker.
The programme was started by Dr Naseer Ud-din Sofi, HoD English, whereas Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta welcomed the chief guest, guests of Honour, the keynote speaker and other participants from different colleges and universities.
Speaking at the event, the key speaker gave a detailed lecture on the theme ‘The Life: Biography and Literature’. She focused on the relationship of the life of an author with literature and said the literature is the mirror of society and indicates whatever is happening in the society we can describe it in today’s literature.
All the research scholars from different universities also presented their research papers related to the theme of the conference. At least 75 scholars and professors from different universities took part in the conference.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks, presented by Prof. Marve Sofi, convener Literary Club.
