GDC Bishnah organizes debate contest

JAMMU, Sept 13: To mark the celebration of ‘Hindi Divas’, Government Degree College Bishnah organized a debate competition for the students of BA Part-I, II and III, on the topic ‘Hindi Bhasha Ka Mahatav Aur Visheshtain’, here today.
The event was held under the supervision of Prof Sunita Gupta, Head of the Department of Hindi.
Prof Kalpana Kesar, College Principal was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking on the occasion advocated for making Hindi as an official language.
Prof Sunita Gupta also spoke on the occasion and motivated the students for opting Hindi as subject.
Meanwhile, Nisha Jamwal of BA Part-I, Anju of BA Part-II and Priya Sharma of BA Part-I bagged first three places respectively, while Pooja Devi of BA Part-I and Sonia Bala of BA Part-II were given consolation prizes.
The panel of judges included Prof Hardeep Kour, Dr Alka Sharma and Prof Preeti Dogra.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Pooja Devi and Monika Kaith of BA Part-I.
