JAMMU, Mar 1: The Department of Sports and Physical Education at Government College for Women (GCW) Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, organized an engaging Carrom competition under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Meeru Abrol. The event, held with great enthusiasm, saw active participation from students, promoting a spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
Guided by Prof. Goyal Giri, the competition featured intense matches, culminating in an exciting final showdown between Team Chenab and Team Tawi. After a closely contested match, Team Chenab, consisting of Meenakshi and Anjali, triumphed as champions. Their exceptional teamwork and strategic game play secured them the well-deserved victory.
Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol praised the efforts of the organizing team and encouraged students to actively participate in extracurricular activities. She highlighted the benefits of indoor games like carrom in improving concentration and analytical skills.
Prof. Goyal Giri also expressed appreciation for the participants’ enthusiasm and assured that more such events will be organized in the future to promote holistic development.
