DODA, May 18: Friends Cricket Club Pranoo and Royal Cricket Club Dhrabshala defeated their rivals to advance in the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
In the first match of the day, Friends Cricket Club Pranoo outplayed Kings Eleven Cricket Club Kashtigar by 5 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Kings Eleven Cricket Club Kashtigar bundled out for paltry 73 runs in 14 overs. Ashfaq scored 28 runs, while Gourav contributed 9 runs. For Friends Cricket Club Pranoo, Babloo and Aarif shared 3 wickets each.
In reply, Friends Cricket Club chased the target in 10.5 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Muzaffer made 15 runs, while Babber Parry contributed 10 runs to the total. For Kings Eleven Cricket Club Kashtigar, Gourav and Masood took 2 wickets each. Babloo of Friends Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his superb bowling performance.
In another match played today, Royal Cricket Club Dhrabshala defeated Natnoo Cricket Club Doda by 7 wickets. Batting first, Natnoo Cricket Club Doda set a target of 154 runs by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Abdul Bari Natnoo scored 48 runs, while Bilal contributed 43 runs to the total. For Royal Cricket Club Doda, Mohd Imran scalped 3 wickets, while Mubbasir claimed one wicket.
In reply, Royal Cricket Club Dhrabshala chased the target in 18.4 overs by losing 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets. Mohd Aamir was the top scorer with 50 runs followed by Sawan Parihar who added 29 runs. For Natnoo Cricket Club Doda, Kawaldeep took 2 wickets. Aamir of Royal Cricket Club Dhrabshala was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
Manzoor Ahmad Bhatt, patron Young Star Cricket Club Doda was the chief guest, who presented man of the match awards to the winners, while Ranjeet Kalra, Chairman, District Sports Council Doda lauded the efforts of the office bearers of Young Star Cricket Club Doda for organizing this sporting extravaganza.
The match was officiated by Amit Bansal and Sanjay Singh as umpires, while Rinku Bhadouriya acted as scorer.
