SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Cricket activities resumed at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium after the gap of almost two years with the holding of SDA Drabu Memorial Cricket Tournament, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), here.
FCC Blues and ASCC Reds scripted wins over their rivals in the two matches played at this historic venue of the State today.
Earlier, in the first match, FCC Blues thrashed KCC Reds by a huge margin of 119 runs in a one-sided affair. Batting first, FCC Blues scored a mammoth total of 188 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Nazir was the top scorer with 47 runs. Rahul Mussa captured 3 wickets for KCC Reds.
In reply, KCC Reds suffered a humiliating defeat by a huge margin of 119 runs as they bundled out for a paltry total of 69 runs. None of the batsman could manage good score for the team. For FCC Blues, Waseem Beigh captured 5 important wickets.
In another match, Amar Singh Cricket Club (ASCC) Reds registered a thrilling super-over win over RCC Blues.
Batting first, RCC Blues scored 132 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 20 overs, with Wasim top scoring with a brilliant 49 runs. Sabdar took 3 wickets for ASCC Reds. ASCC Reds in reply scored equal number of runs by losing 9 wickets to take the match to super-over, wherein ASCC emerged winner.
