Evershine drubs Tawi Sports Club by 32 runs in opening tie

JAMMU, Dec 27: Evershine Cricket Club defeated Tawi Sports Club by 32 runs in the inaugural match of the 3rd Jammu Tawi Winter T20 Cup, which got underway at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
SSP (PCR), Jammu, Ashok Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, who inaugurated the match in an impressive and well attended function.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vikram Singh, former Ranji Trophy Player, Shashi Paul, organizing secretary, Indraj Bagal, president of the organizing Club Surjit Singh, Arun Kumar, Rajat Bhardwaj, Mohinder Singh, Krishan Lal and RP Singh.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Evershine Club scored a modest total of 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Prince was the top scorter with 36 runs, while Bunty contributed 35 and Narender chipped in with 19 runs. For Tawi Sports Club, Anchal took 3 wickets, while Aryan bagged 2 and Nitin claimed one.
In reply, Tawi Sports Club managed to score 99 runs in 20 overs, thus lostthe match by 32 runs. Nitin Mehra top scored with 28 runs, while Ravi contributed 13 runs to the total. Bunty took 3 wickets for Evershine Cricket Club, while Bansi Lal and Hardeep claimed 2 wickets each.
The match was officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Vinod Kandrya was the scorer. The Tournament is being organized by Tawi Sports Club, under the supervision of Shashi Paul. I-Tec is the sponsor of the cash award of the Tournament.
