JAMMU, Sept 29: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, commenced the Inter-School District Level Gatka Competition for Under-17 and Under-19 boys at MA Stadium, here today.
The competition serves as a platform for young players to showcase their skills and aims to select top talent for upcoming higher-level competitions. DYSSO Jammu encouraged participants to perform with dedication and sportsmanship. The matches were conducted by departmental experts including Harvinder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Davinder Singh, Harvinder Kour and other technical officials.
In the U-19 Boys (Fari Stick) category, Jahanpreet Singh (Rani Public) secured 1st place, followed by Divjot Singh (WJN School), Tejinder Singh (Holy Cross RS Pura) and Ishmeet Singh (WJN School).
In the U-19 Boys (Single Stick) category, Amandeep Singh (HSS RS Pura) stood 1st, Samarpreet Singh (Guru Gobind Singh School) 2nd, Daljeet Singh (SP Smart Kachi Chawni) 3rd and Vishawjeet Singh (Shiksha Niketan) 4th.
