BILLAWAR, May 11: Government Degree College (GDC), Billawar organized a function to inaugurate the newly developed Smart Class Room with a sitting capacity of 80 persons, here today.
Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh was the chief guest, while Mamta Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The Smart Class Room was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh by cutting the ribbon.
The Room is equipped with Computer System, Ceiling Projector, Interactive Whiteboard along with paneled walls, tiled floor, curtained windows and sound system.
Principal of the College, Dr Netar Singh welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them with PowerPoint Presentation about the profile of the College, recently added infrastructure, various development works going on in the college and urgent requirements.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh appreciated and congratulated the College administration for providing an ambiance and technology of 21st century to the students of far flung areas.
He also assured all his help for the construction of hostels for students hailing from the higher reaches of Hills in Billawar region, for construction of Principal and staff quarters and in introducing new post graduate courses.
In the end, Dr Nater Singh presented memento to the Deputy Chief Minister.
A large number of tehsil officers were also present in the function.
