JAMMU, July 13: Jammu Municipal Corporation’s Deputy Mayor Advocate Purnima Sharma today flagged off more than 60 players of Traditional Karate-Do Association of J&K and Ladakh Sports Karate Association from here to participate in the upcoming All India Karate Championship, organised by Chhattisgarh Olympic Association in association with Karate Association of India.
Councillor Amit Gupta, Advisor Rajive Gupta, Mohit and Rohit Thakyal were also present during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor said that today these players from Jammu Kashmir UT and Ladakh UT are going to participate in All India Karate Championships organised by Chhattisgarh Olympic Association in association with Karate Association of India.
She hoped that all the players would bag medals in different categories for their Union Territories and make their parents proud.
The players will participate in the upcoming championship under the supervision of Shihan Umesh Rekhi (General Secretary) and Shihan Naresh Chander (President of Traditional Do Karate Association of J&K) and Sensei Abdul Aziz (President of Ladakh Sports Karate Association).
Sensei Rohit Thakyal, Sensei Aaftab, Sensei Rayees Ahmad, Sensei Tanesha Mahajan, Sensei Udhay Singh and Sensei Amir Gulzar will accompany the team as coach and officials.
