SRINAGAR, May 20: Directorate of School Education Kashmir organized Provincial Level quiz competition at Girls Higher Secondary School, Sonawar, here today.
Joint Director, School Education Kashmir, Syed Abid Rashid Shah presided over the programme and many senior officers of education department were present on the occasion.
In the beginning OSD Cultural Education Wing, Zahoor Ahmad Banday presented welcome address.
In this provincial level event selected students from all 10 districts of Valley participated.
Three teams comprising of 2 students each grabbed the first three positions. Zeshan Maqbool and Muneeb Afzal from HS Veri of District Anantnag were awarded first position, Sunaiba Razaq HSS Hadipora Baramulla and Mehfuza Rehman of HSS Fatehgarh Baramulla were bagged 2nd position, while Aqib Hamid and Owais Ahmad Shah of BHSS Langate Kupwara claimed the 3rd position.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, Mr Shah appealed the teachers, students and parents to work in a coordinated manner for the betterment of education system.
He said that Government wants to bring positive change in the education system and hoped all the stake holders will contribute to bring the discernible change.
Educationist Ghulam Nabi Shakir conducted the proceedings of the event, while Mrs Afifa, Principal GHSS Sonawar presented vote of thanks.
