UDHAMPUR, May 5: The Zonal Level Inter School Tournaments for the age groups of under-14 and under-17 years boys and girls were inaugurated by Dr Piyush Singla, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Udhampur at Govt HSS Chenani, here.
A total of 147 girls drawn from eight different institutions participated in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Yoga.
In Kho-Kho under-14 girls, HSS Sewna emerged winner, while Evergreen School remained runners-up, while in Kabaddi under-14 girls, Govt Girls HS Chenani was the winner, while Evergreen School got runners-up trophy.
In Yoga under-14 girls, Nitika Sumbria of Evergreen School emerged winner.
In Kho-Kho under-17 girls, HSS Sewna emerged winner, while HSS Kud remained runners-up, while in Kabaddi under-17 girls, KV Chenani emerged winner and HSS Kud remained runners-up.
In Yoga under-17 years girls, Sulakshna Devi of HSS Kud emerged winner.
The matches were officiated by Des Raj, Bikram Singh, Rakesh Manhas, Kuldeep Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Yogeshwar, Rishi Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Rajinder Chanyal, Joginder Singh, Desh Bandu, Gulzar Begun, Meena Kotwal, Anita Kayak, Mukesh Kumar, Mohan Das, Ravi Kumar and Kuldeep Kumar.
The tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the overall supervision of Kharati Lal Sharma, DYSSO Udhampur and supervision of Anil Verma, In-charge Zonal Physical Education Officer.
