BISHNAH, May 5: Defeating SKCC convincingly in the last match of the series today, BCC won the title trophy of the Tri- Series Shaheed Subedar Karnail Singh Cricket Tournament, organised by GS Sports Club at Mandal cricket ground, here.
SSP Randheer Singh, Commandant 19th Bn was the chief guest, while DySP Sourabh Prasher was the guest of honour.Anil Choudhary and Atul Sudan, Vice President JJSF were the special guests.
Founder Cum Chairman Nations Development Association (NDA), Kr Sushil Singh Charak and President GS Sports Club, Sushant Gupta welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries on the occasion.
Earlier, BCC won the toss and chose to bat first and set a target of 218 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Deepak Sharma top scored with 131 runs off 64 balls, while Ashwani contributed 21 runs to the total. Sumit and Shallu bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, SKCC managed to score 168 runs in 20 overs, Shallu top scored with 26 runs, while Aman and Aqib contributed 20 and 15 runs respectively. Mannu and Deepak Sharma got 2 wickets each, while Sahil and Jasbir claimed 1 wicket each.
BCC won the Series by 3-0 as it had emerged winner in both the match played earlier.
Randheer Singh, SSP Commandant IRP 19th Bn while paying respectful tributes to Shaheed Subedar Karnail Singh recalled his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
He appreciated the role of Bishnah youth in eradicating drug menace from the society by involving large number of youth in sports activities.
He lavished praise on GS Sports Club for promoting sports in the area.
He also urged the youth to promote local sports like Wrestling, Kabaddi and other rural games.
He assured full support of JKP in organising such events in future as well.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Pankaj Motton, Sahil, Honey Gupta, Munish and Sahil Tagotra.
