SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Former Sadr-i-Riyasat, Dr. Karan Singh, felicitated young athlete Mohsin Ali and his renowned coach, Paris Olympics Jury Member Bilquis Mir, for winning gold at the recently concluded Khelo India Water Sports event held in Srinagar.
The ceremony was also attended by Martand Singh, Trustee of the Hari Tara Charitable Trust and grandson of Dr. Karan Singh. Praising Mohsin’s exceptional performance against strong rivals from Madhya Pradesh and Punjab, Dr. Singh also lauded Bilquis Mir’s dedication and years of mentorship.
Bilquis expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying such honours would motivate young athletes like Mohsin to strive for excellence. Both also spoke about the positive impact of the Khelo India Scheme on sports development in Jammu & Kashmir.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Mohsin and Bilquis in his recent Mann Ki Baat and praised their achievements at the national level.
