Trestile Group representatives call on Minister

JAMMU, Jan 31: Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh while congratulating the Harman Jot Singh, an 8th standard student of Jodhamal School Jammu who is among 32 winners of this year’s PM’s Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from J&K said that every one feels proud of him.
Interacting with the boy here this morning who along with his parents Dr Mandi Kour and Dr Harminder Singh besides Principal of the School Nandan Kuthiala called on Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh said “Not only your school but entire J&K is proud of you”. “Your achievement is not only inspiration for youngsters but even for the elders”, he added.
While giving all applauds to the boy for his extraordinary achievement, Dr Jitendra Singh said. “More you sharpen your creativeness more will be the creation”. He said if spirit is willing and alive it goes on winning.
The Principal of the Jodhamal School Nandan Kuthiala said all the credit goes to the PM, Narendra Modi for giving him the platform.
Harman Jot, a resident of Greater Kailash, Jammu, while interacting with the Minister said that he wants to become a data Scientist. Dr Jitendra Singh assured him that he will arrange a trip for him to BARC, Mumbai.
Later the representative of the Trestle Management Advisor Group met Dr. Jitendra Singh,. Trestle is a management advisor group that works on Sustainable Development Goals and Environmental Protection with primary focus on Himalayan region.
Trestle team was led by its Lead Strategist, Dr Rajan Kotru and Chief Patron, Virender Raina. On the occasion a book on Trans Himalyan landscape and a picture of Mount Kailash was presented to the Minister. The opportunity was also utilised to present to the Minister some key policy documents authored by Dr Rajan Kotru on the subject of sustainable development and capacity building of the youth of the country.
“Dr Jitendra Singh shared the success of some of the transformational and environmental friendly projects in North East. He said that one such project is of Bamboo cultivation and a host of cottage industries attached with it. This is environmental friendly and also employment generating on a large scale, he added.
Dr.Rajan Kotru talked about his work in the Kailash and Mansarovar range where he led his group in cleaning the Kailash mountain of the non bio-degradable debris. The group was also instrumental in developing bathing ghats on the holy Mansarovar lake for the Indian pilgrims. Trestle Group also envisages the development of Ladakh as a Carbon neutral territory and it is in the process of preparing a policy paper on the same. The group also envisages the capacity building of the youth of the J&K to carry forward the developmental mantra of Sab ka Saath Sab ka Vikaas.
He said “We have to protect the Kailash Mansarovar basin as it is the source of our major river systems”. He added that the Himalayas act as a bulwark against the adversaries from North and also provide us life sustaining water for drinking and agriculture.
Chief Patron, Trestle Virender Raina said that the objective of the group is to create an eco system that is environment friendly, sustainable and also high growth.
