LEH, June 22: Delhi Public School (DPS), Leh today celebrated its annual day with great pomp and show at Kumba Hall of ITBP’s 24th Battalion.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Simrandeep Singh, was the chief guest whereas Commandants of ITBP, Sanjeev Rolbo and Hoshiar Singh were the guests of honour.
The programme began with the lightening of traditional lamp by the chief guest, guests of honour and management members-TP Singh and Suminder Singh.
The programme was attended by students, their parents and various guests.
The dances, songs, skit performances by the kindergarten section of the school mesmerized the audience. The dance on the song ‘Jai-Ho’ was the attraction of the programme. The skit on war between India and neighbouring country got round applause from one and all sitting inside the Hall.
The students of kindergarten section attired in flowers, bushes and trees dancing on the tune of the Mulberry-Bush also made the audience and dignitaries to stand on their feet.
Earlier, the welcome address was presented by local management member TP Singh. Principal of the school, Subhash Kumar Baldotra read the annual report of the school highlighting its various achievements.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest had all the praise for the school and management for providing quality education in this remote part of the country. Guests of honour also showered their blessings upon the student fraternity.
