Donations continue to pour in for COVID-19 relief fund

JAMMU, Mar 29: Department of Agriculture Kashmir decided to donate one day’s salary of all employees to COVID-19 fund.
The decision was taken in an emergency meeting called by Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi in which Joint Directors, Chief Agriculture Officers, Divisional Level Officers and representatives of various employee unions of the Department were linked up through WhatsApp.
Similarly, Gazetted Officers of Department of Horticulture, Kashmir today decided to contribute two-day salary to COVID-19 relief fund while Non-Gazetted employees decided to donate one-day salary.
The decision was taken during emergency meeting called by Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat wherein all officers at Divisional Level as well as District Level were linked up via Whatsapp.
Baldev Singh Billawaria, Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Jammu has decided to donate his one month salary to Prime Minster’s Relief Fund specially created for purpose of treating Corona Virus patients and to take extra precautionary measures to prevent this deadly disease from spreading.
Likewise, Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) – an amalgam of various employees’ association of J&K – has decided to donate one day salary towards the J&K Government’s Relief Fund. Chairman EJCC Ajaz Ahmad Khan said the decision was unanimously made by the committee’s core group.
EJCC has urged the Lt Governor, Chief Secretary and Secretary Finance to issue directions in this regard to all drawing and disbursing officers of the UT.
Meanwhile, Non-Gazetted Employees Welfare Association of SKIMS, Soura comprising more than 5000 employees decided to donate their one day salary for the treatment of Covid-19 affected patients of Kashmir. The employees have conveyed their decision to the Director SKIMS, Soura Dr G A Ahangar.
