JAMMU, Mar 19: Dogra Law College organized one day seminar on “No More Victims on Road”, to pay homage to four students of the college Tariff Hussain, Vikas Narwal, Kapil Gupta and Kamal Kishore, who lost their lives in road accidents.
On the occasion, Muneer Ahmed Khan, IGP Traffic was the chief guest, who while speaking appreciated the presentations of the participants in the seminar. He also said that Traffic Police has been directed to take immediate cognizance and action regarding visible offences such as use of mobile while driving, excessive speed, not using the helmet and overloading.
Sujit Kumar, SP Traffic Rural as a guest of honour stressed upon the need of dealing with the real issues with proper solutions such as efficient engineering with reference to road measurement, healthy traffic environment and strict enforcement of rules and regulations.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Traffic Police at present appointed as DIG Kathua appreciated the efforts of the college management.
SM Jangral, SDPO Bari Brahmana in his speech extended all possible help for the successful organization of the said event in the future.
Garima Gupta, Advocate J&K High Court and Slahudin LLM student of All India Institute were the judges.
Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust and Prof VK Kapoor, Director cum Principal, Dogra Law College were also present.
The stage was managed by Naveed Anjum, Lecturer Dogra Law College and Surbhi Kotwal, student, while Rohini Sharma, Lecturer presented the vote of thanks.
