Dogra College of Education celebrates birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh

JAMMU, Sept 21: Dogra College of Education organized an intra-college seminar to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last ruler of Jammu and Kashmir. The theme of the seminar was “Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and Dogra Dynasty”.
The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries followed by the welcome address by Vintee Kumari, Senior Lecturer, Dogra College of Education.
Floral tributes were also paid to Maharaja Hari Singh. The programme was held under the NSS unit of Dogra College of Education.
The programme was presided over by Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and the guest of honour was Major General (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal. The programme was anchored by Priya Khullar and Simran Devi, students of BEd Semester III.
Major General (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal and Gulchain Singh Charak highlighted the contributions of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Ten students of all the three colleges of Dogra Educational Trust participated in the seminar and highlighted the achievements and contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh in Jammu and Kashmir. Certificates were also distributed among the participants.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Member Trustee, Dogra Educational Trust, Colonel (Dr) Kamal Nane Padha, Director, Dogra Educational Trust, Prof VP Magotra, Principal, Dogra Law College, Dr Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education and Dr Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education. Faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
Formal vote of thanks was proposed by Jyoti Raina, Lecturer in Environmental Science, Dogra College of Education.
