DLIZ Football, Kabaddi, Yoga competitions declared open at Khel Gaon

JAMMU, Sept 21: Former District Development Commissioner and Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Rohit Khajuria declared open District Level Inter Zonal (DLIZ) competitions in the disciplines of Football, Kabaddi and Yoga at Khel Gaon Nagrota, near here today.
Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion, while Jitendra Mishra, Deputy Director(C) Youth Services and Sports (YS&S) was the guest of honour.
The tournaments are being held under the patronage of Gazanffar Ali, Director, Youth Services & Sports J&K and under the overall supervision of Deputy Director Jitendra Mishra. DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma is supervising the events. Around 800 boys drawn from all 14 zones of District Jammu are taking part in first leg of this sporting extravaganza.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lavished praise for the organisers for holding the event in a befitting manner. He encouraged the student players with his inspiring words.
The Deputy Director directed the officers concerned and officials for providing best food to the athletes to yield better results.
Meanwhile, Satwari Zone dominated the events on the first day of the tournament.
In Football, Satwari defeated Dansal by six goals to nil (6-0), while Bhalwal got the better of Khour by two goals to nil (2-0) and Jammu prevailed over Miran Sahib by three goals to nil (3-0).
In Kabaddi U-14 Boys, Satwari drubbed Jammu by 19 points, while Khour beat Miran Sahib by 9 points and Satwari outclassed Bhalwal by 14 points.
In Kabaddi U-17 Boys, Marh defeated Gandhi nagar by 24 points, while Khour trounced Miran Sahib by 15 points and Akhnoor thrashed Jammu by 5 points.
In Kabaddi U-19 Boys, Gandhi Nagar zone got the better of Jammu Zone by 8 points, while Satwari defeated Khour by 9 points and Arnia drubbed Bhalwal by 20 points.
