District Weightlifting C’ships conclude at Samba, MA Stadium

JAMMU, Dec 20: J&K Weightlifting Association conducted District Youth, Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championships 2021-22 at Govt. Degree College Samba and MAM Stadium, here respectively.
Naveen Anand, Principal Government Degree College Samba was the chief guest at Samba, while SP SS Gill was the chief guest at MAM Stadium during the closing ceremony.
Capt Singh, Jangbir Singh, Principal, Shishu Niketan School, Manoj Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Ravi Singh (Retd Divisional Sports officer), Dinesh Pathania, Amit Kumar Sharma, Dhanraj Singh, Inderpal Singh and others were present during the event.
During the Samba Championship (In 55 kg girls category), Shivni bagged first position, while in 59 kg, Gurpreet Kour clinched 1st position and in 64 kg, Sheetal Sharma stood first, besides in 71 kg, Isha Devi won first prize.
In boys category, (55 kg youth category), Jasmeet Mangotra bagged first position, while in 55 kg Junior, Rahul Kumar won 1st position and in 61 kg junior, Rohit Kumar stood 1st, in 73 kg junior, Shankar Singh stood first, besides in 81 kg youth, Arun Vashisht and Tajinder Singh stood 1st and 2nd respectively, while in 81 kg junior, Jamin Jamwal won first prize and Kartika Attri bagged first position in senior category in same weight.
In 89 kg junior, Nirantwr Sambyal and Abhishek Sharma stood 1st and 2nd while in 96 kg youth, Divankar Singh stood first and Namandeep Singh claimed 1st in 96 kg junior, and in 96 kg senior, Abhishek Kumar won first prize.
In Jammu, Komal Gupta and Bindiya Sharma stood 1st in 49 kg senior, and 55 kg senior categories respectively, while in 55 kg junior, Rita Pajnoo and Palak Devi stood 1st and 2nd respectively.
In the 61 kg youth category, Vanshika got first prize, in 61 kg senior Lakshmi Devi won first, Anjali Sharma stood 2nd  and in 81 kg junior, Shasan James grabbed first prize.
In men’s category (49kg youth), Rajyavardhan Singh stood first and Vasu Sharma stood 2nd, while 55 Anshbadan and Anil Kumar won first prizes in 55 kg youth and junior category and in 61 kg senior, Prashant Sharma and Sourabh Sharma stood 1st and 2nd, besides in 67 kg youth, Kartika Sharma, Narender Lalotra and Vardesh Koushal took 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while in 67kg junior, Nirbhay Pratap Singh and Amrinder Singh remained 1st and 2nd and in senior category, Rahul Chopra, Kewal Singh and Thenles Tanchos stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In under 73 kg youth category, Rituk Kumar and Kartika Kanetar got 1st and 2nd positions, while in under 73 kg junior, Manpreet Singh, Vishvajeet Singh and Sartik Vaid bagged top three positions respectively and in under 73 kg senior, Mukesh Sharma stood first, besides in under 81 kg youth category Paras Gupta stood 1st, while in 81 junior, Pankaj Kumar remained 1st and Aditya Sambyal stood 2nd.
In under 81 kg senior, Richard Dogra, Gautam Kohli and Rajat Katal bagged top three positions respectively, while under 89 kg junior, Akash Sharma won 1st place and Varun Changotra took first rank in senior category, besides in under 96 kg youth, Nirmal Singh and Bhavish Chib stood 1st and 2nd, while in under 96 kg junior, top two positions were secured by Arun Raj Bhagat and Karan Kumar Sahu and in under 96 kg senior, top three places were won by Himanshu Sharma, Manjeet Singh and Wasim Ahmed  respectively.
In plus 109 kg youth category, Prajnay Singh and Sakshan Singh stood 1st and 2nd respectively, while in plus 109 kg junior category, Archit Mahajan won first rank.
