RAJOURI, Feb 12: Nehru Yuva Kendra in collaboration with Jamola Nehru Youth Club Rajouri organized two days district level Inter Youth Club Sports meet at Mini Stadium, which commenced today.
The Rajouri youths from different blocks actively participated in the meet. According to the District Sports Officer, Mohd Ayaz Khan the main objective for organizing the programme was to popularize and promote sports activities among the youths in the rural areas and also to select youths who excel in various sports activities and would be trained to participate in bigger events of the district and State levels.
He informed that the meet is the first of its kind in the area and the same would be organized in other parts of the district or State, Thakur M Nasir Khan National Awardee would make elaborate arrangements for the events.
The youth from different youth clubs could participate in Volley-ball, Kabaddi , Kho-Kho, Tug of War and 200 meter race. Khursheed Mir Zonal Education Officer Rajouri said prize and certificates would be given to Winners in different events, Palma Youth Club in Volley-ball, National Youth Club Gurdhan in Kabaddi, Thandikassi Youth Club in Kho-Kho, Jamola Nehru Youth Club in Tug of War and 200 meter race individual events gave First Prize to Kulwant Singh, 2nd Prize to Mohd Arshad of Jamola and 3rd Prize to Shahzad of Ghambir.
