JAMMU, Feb 12: Badminton Tournament organized under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) by District Jammu Police in Arnia concluded in presence of galaxy of dignitaries, sarpanches, panches and sports lovers, here today.
Kamal Verma, MLA Bishnah was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while S K Punia, Lt. Col 4th Dogra Regiment was also present on the occasion.
Deliberating on the aim and the objective of Civic Action Programme undertaken by J&K Police, S. Randheer Singh, SP Hqrs-Jammu maintained that the programme comprises several schemes for the promotion of youths in sports & cultural arena.
In under-15 girls final, Shivangi defeated Amashi, while in boys category, Mohit Choudhary defeated Tushar.
In under-19 boys, Navdeep Singh defeated Ramandeep Singh.
In men’s singles, Sunil Bakshi defeated Paarth whereas, in men’s doubles, Rajinder Singh and Parvinder Singh defeated Paarth and Saudaghar.
Similarly in veteran singles, Sanjay Saini of Arnia defeated Vijay Kumar of Arnia.
After the conclusion of tournament, Trophies and certificates were distributed among the winners. Besides this, Badminton Poles Adjustable, Rackets and Shuttles were also provided to Youth Club of Arnia under Civic Action Programme.
The Tournament was held under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, while SP Hqrs Jammu, S Randheer Singh, SDPO R S Pura, S Devinder Singh and SHO P/S Arnia Inspector, Jatinder Singh Sambyal were present on the occasion.
