JAMMU, May 27: District Level Inter School Tug-of-War Tournament for boys and girls organised by Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association commenced today at Guru Harkrishan Public School, Nanak Nagar.
The tournament was declared open by Rajesh Sharma, President, J&K Cooperative Union and Executive Member, All India Cooperative Union in presence of Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, Sher-e-Kashmir Sports Awardee, Sukh Versha Mehta, Principal, Guru Harkrishan Public School, Hardeep Singh Anand, president, Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association, faculty members and participants.
In under 19 boys, Guru Harkrishan Public School thrashed JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib by 2-1 sets, Unique Higher Secondary School, Gadigadh trounced MHAC Nagbani by 2-0 sets, New National Public Higher Secondary School outplayed Vivek Academy, Simbal by 2-0 sets and Unique Public Higher Secondary School beat New National Public Higher Secondary School by 2-1 sets.
In under 19 girls, Unique Public Higher Secondary School beat Vivek Academy Simbal by straight 2-0 sets, JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib trounced New National Public Higher Secondary School by 2-0 sets.
In under 17 boys, Guru Harkrishan Public School thrashed MHAC Nagbani by 2-0 sets, Unique Public Higher Secondary School beat GHS Kotli Main Fateh by 2-1 sets, JK Police Public School trounced Vivek Academy by 2-0 sets and Government HS Simble Camp beat Nosegay Academy by straight 2-0 sets.
In under 17 girls, Unique Public Higher Secondary School beat GHS Gole Gujral by 2-0 sets, JK Police Public School trounced Vivek Academy by 2-1 sets, Guru Harkrishan Singh School thrashed GHS Kotli Mian Fateh and Government HS Simble camp defeated Nosegay Academy.
The matches were officiated by Daljit Singh, Ranvir Singh, Ajay Kumar, Parmeet Singh and Gurmeet Singh.
