JAMMU, July 26: District Level Inter-School Tournaments of boys section in various sports disciplines concluded, here today.
In all, 430 boys drawn from all the Govt. and Private Institutions of district Jammu took part in the competitions.
The competitions were organized under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, Jammu and under the overall supervision of Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu.
The main objective of these competitions is to select the teams for District Jammu in the various sports disciplines for Inter-District competitions.
Earlier, on the concluding today, Keshav of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kandoli, Nagorta lifted Under-19 boys Carrom singles title by defeating
Sahil of Govt Higher Secondary School Nowabad, while Abhishek Singh and Gourav Chib of GHSS Gharota beat Saksham Dogra and Mritunjya Sharma of Oriental Academy in Under-19 Carrom doubles Championship at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
In Carrom Under-19 boys singles 1st semifinal, Keshav of GHSS Kandoli Nagrota drubbed Anmol of APS Domana, while in 2nd semifinal, Sahil of GHSS Nowbad trounced Abhishek of GHSS Gharota.
In Carrom Under-19 boys doubles 1st semifinal, Abhishek Singh and Gourav Chib of GHSS Gharota beat Harish and Tableen of Aryan Public Senior Secondary School and in 2nd semifinal, Saksham Dogra and Mritunjya of Oriental Academy defeated Dhruv Bhandari and Nitin Kumar of DBN Amarvilla.
In Table Tennis Under-19 boys final, Maharishi Vidya Mandir lost to rivals by (3-0).
In Karate Under-19 boys -45 Kg, Karan of GHSS Nowabad clinched gold, while Ankit of Oriental School bagged silver
In 45-50 Kg, Yudhvir of JK Montiessori claimed gold, while in55-60 Kg, Nikhil of Evergreen School claimed gold and Vansh of Oriental clinched silver.
The trials in the disciplines of Super Seven Cricket and Tennis Ball Cricket Under-19 boys were also held at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, here.
