JAMMU, May 25: The District Level Inter School competition for boys and girls Under-19 years was conducted in the disciplines of Football, Speedball and Basketball by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Subash Stadium and Army Public School, here.
The competitions were held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Kharati Lal Sharma.
In football, 18 boys drawn from 4 institutions took part in the trials, while in Speedball 12 boys and 2 girls drawn from 4 different schools participated in the competitions, while in Basketball Under-19 boys, 27 boys drawn from different institutions participated in the competitions.
The selected players will be picked for the district teams to play in divisional level tournaments.
The trials were conducted by Ajay Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Palvi, Nitish, Raj Kumar, Raman Sharma, Raj Kumar Dogra, Rakesh Kumar, Kapil, Sandeep, Ashang Bandral and Bupinder Singh. Prominent among others present on the occasion were ZPEO Panchari Pawan Sharma, Jaswinder Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Jatin Sethi, Raman Gupta, Asha, Meenakshi, Swarandeep Singh Tara, Vinod Khajuria and Rajesh Sharma.
