JAMMU, Aug 26: The District Level Inter-School Athletic Meet of all age group boys section got underway at Jammu University ground, here.
The Inter-Zonal competitions in the disciplines of Roller Skating, Roller Hockey in all age groups and Inter-Zonal District Level under-19 boys Cricket also began at different venues here today.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Jammu under the patronage of its Director General, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director (J), while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
In 100 Mtrs Under-14 boys final, Sagar Singh of MHAC Nagbani won gold, Rahul Kumar of Sainik School Nagrota bagged silver and Harsimranjeet of Stephen International School claimed bronze.
In 100 Mtrs Under-17 boys final, Arya Mahajan clinched gold, Jai Bharat of Sainik School Nagrota won silver and Nikhil Kumar of APS Domana claimed bronze.
In 100 Mtrs Under-19 boys final, Randeep Singh of MHAC Nagbani bagged gold, while Sandeep Dogra of BSF Paloura clinched silver and Shawn of HSS Bhour Camp claimed bronze.
Meanwhile, in Inter Zonal District Level Under-19 boys Cricket at Parade ground, Zone Bishnah/Arnia beat zone Khour/Jourian by 9 wickets in the first match, while Zone Marh/Bhalwal defeated Zone RS Pura/Miran Sahib by 9 wickets.
The matches are being officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, District Jammu.
