UDHAMPUR, Nov 6: District Junior Athletic Meet for boys and girls, organized by District Udaipur Athletic Association concluded today at Subash Stadium here.
Around 250 athletes from different institutions of the District participated in the meet.
The meet was organized under the supervision of Sunil Sharma, President District Athletic Association Udhampur.
Swarn Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer was the chief guest and distributed the prizes among the athletes.
The events were officiated by Ranbir Singh PET, Raj Kumar PEM, Akshay, Dhanur officiated the events. Ramesh Sharma, International Athletic Coach supervised the whole events.
In U-16 800 meters (girls), Simran Sharma of GHSS Garhi and Bandhu Thakur of National Academy High School bagged first and second positions respectively, while in U-14 600 meters (girls), Arti Devi of GHS Babey and Tanu Devi of GHS Babey clinched first and second positions respectively.
In U-16 1000 meters (boys), Shavial Singh of CPS Higher Secondary School Udhampur and Arjun Kumar of GHSS Garhi clinched first and second positions respectively, while in U-14 600 meters (boys), Abhisekh Rana of KV No 1 Udhampur and Rohit Singh of AOC Higher Secondary School Udhampur bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-16 Shotput (boys), Jasmehar Singh and Sumit Kumar clinched first and second positions respectively, whereas in girls’ category, Payal Kataria and Ashima clinched first and second positions respectively.
In U-14 Shotput (boys), Yudhishter Singh and Arun Sharma clinched first and second positions respectively, whereas in girls’ category, Drishti and Payal Bhagat bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-16 Long Jump (girls), Simran of Army Public School Udhampur and Asma of Himalaya Model High School bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas in boys category, Afreen Iqbal of Army Public School Udaipur and Sumit of KV No 1 Udaipurclinched first and second positions respectively.
In U-14 Long Jump (girls), Tanu Devi of GHS Babey and Mridul of Happy Model Higher Secondary School clinched first and second positions respectively, whereas in boys’ category, Yashvardan of Bright Career Public School Garhi and Saksham of Happy Model Higher Secondary School clinched first and second positions respectively.
