KATHUA, Feb 25: Two days Kathua District Judo Championship, organised by J&K Judo Association under the aegis of J&K Olympic Association and J&K Sports Council, culminated today at District Coaching Centre, here.
About 100 Judokas participated in the championship. District president BJP OBC Morcha, Jatinder Bharti was the chief guest and Bodh Raj, secretary BJP OBC Morcha JK UT was the special guest.
The bouts were officiated by Shakti Gupta Sports Council Coach, Manish Chatwal Judo Instructor and Aman Gupta, whereas Sahil Dogra was the organising secretary of the championship.
In boys 10 years category, top two positions were clinched by Jaishwar and Acleshvar while Om and Shaksham shared 3rd position, whereas in 12 years, Ritik, Mushtaq and Arnav clinched first three places and Areen and Krishna Sharma claimed 2nd spots while Rudra and Ridham shared 3rd position also in 12 years category besides in 14 years, first three positions were secured by Umkeshwar, Manyank and Dhruv respectively.
In 50 kg, Danish, Sharang and Ashiq won top three positions, whereas in + 18 years, first two were clinched by Anurudh and Mohd Hussain while ShuvamMehra and Saleem shared 3rd place and in 66 kg, Kamaldeep, Munish Jamwal and Lakshay stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively besides in 55kg (15 years), Sabir and Yaseen remained 1st and 2nd while Suleman and Ayub Shard 3rd place.
In 55 kg (18 years), Irshad Ali, Keshav Mehra and Amit clinched top three places respectively, whereas in 66 kg (18 yrs), Koshal and Sahil remained 1st and 2nd while Kulwinder and Ali stood 3rd and in 60 kg (18 yrs), Vipil and Himanshi won top two positions while Vishal and Maskeen shared 3rd position.
In girls under-10, Tejaswani stood 1st, whereas in girls 14 (30 kg), Shabina, Akriti Mahajan and Komal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 40 kg Ishita Mahajan clinched 1st position besides in Jillianne Lei Recio Lucero, Angel Sharma stood 3rd, whereas in juniot category, Sunidhi, Radha and Kajal clinched top three places respectively besides in senior, Anu, Mehak and Sanjana bagged top three positions respectively, while in 73 kg, Shagun Saini and Mohd Rafi won 1st and 2nd positions and Jacqob and Mridul shared third position.
In open category, top three positions were secured by Aryan, Sumit and Gourav Singh respectively.
